E-portfolios

Does Project Zero ring you a bell?

PROJECT ZERO
In reference to the use of technology and e-portfolios Project Zero makes a point on their importance in the learning process.

According to David Perkins, ongoing assessment is essential for learning and students should be given some time to reflect and self- evaluate their learning process.

  •  Portfolios provide students with valuable learning opportunities to show and file different learning styles and abilities.

  • New technologies, especially computers, help access to new knowledge and learning strategies

My Learning Objectives

It has been very difficult to design my learning objectives for this course. At first, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of material and the variety of web 2.0 tools and links we had. Now I have explored most of them I found some needs and based on them, I have come up with some learning objectives.

By the end of the course:
  1. I will have used and evaluated the web 2.0 learning and teaching tools and mechanisms for promoting knowledge by means of socially driven learning networks.
  2. I will have reflected on my learning process and self-evaluated it
  3. I will have participated and created blogs and social networks  while identifying, acessing, aggregating, processing and analyzing the flux of information.
  4. I will have understood the aspects related to Multiliteracies and have reached a definition of Technical Literacy

Week 2 Learning Reflection

As Week 2 of PP107 course has come to an end I have begun to outline what to put in an e-portfolio. It sounds an innovative way to select work and show some progress on my learning. I guess some reflections will come up soon.

I have graduated as an EFL teacher and as a Spanish teacher as well. I believe education is crucial for any society to grow and prosper and I think multiliteracies and collaborative learning are essential in that sense.
